Terms of Use

Galaro is a free-to-play, multi-player tick-based strategy game, played in the browser and in the iPhone app. It is run by Ben Hartley, a sole trader based in the UK (Jactin House, 24 Hood Street, Ancoats, Manchester, M4 6WX, United Kingdom). There is no purchase, no in-game currency, no pay-to-win. All gameplay is server-authoritative; outcomes are deterministic given inputs and the server clock.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Galaro. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Galaro.

You need a valid email to sign up. One account per person. Account sharing or multi-accounting is forbidden and is grounds for immediate termination.

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other players.
• Post hate speech, sexual content, or doxing in any chat channel.
• Exploit bugs to gain in-game advantage. Report them to support.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to play the game.
• Probe, scan, or attack the infrastructure of the service.

Any message you can see (local comms, alliance chat, a private message) and any commander or alliance name can be reported from the game. A moderator reviews every report, aiming for within 24 hours, and may take one of these actions:

• Delete the message.
• Warn you. The warning appears in your in-game inbox.
• Mute you for 24 hours or 7 days: you cannot post messages or change names, but you can keep playing.
• Suspend you for 7 or 30 days: you cannot sign in.
• Ban you permanently: you cannot sign in again.
• Reset your name to a placeholder, after which you choose a new one.

These apply to your account, not just the current eon. A mute, suspension or ban tells you what it is and when it ends where you run into it. To appeal any action, or to complain about how a report was handled, email support@galaro.app and a person will look at it again.

We make no uptime or availability guarantee of any kind. The service, its features, and these terms may change, break, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time, with or without notice. Game eons (seasons) run for ~30 days and end with a full galaxy reset; we may pause, cancel, restart, or wipe an eon at any time for any reason, and all in-game data may be permanently deleted in the process. Where practical we'll note such actions via the in-game Galaxy News Net, but we are not obligated to.

You retain ownership of anything you write in chat or alliance comms. By posting it in Galaro, you grant us a limited licence to display it to other players in the same channel and to retain it for the duration of the active eon plus 30 days for moderation purposes.

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or ban your account for breach of these terms, cheating, or abuse, as described under Conduct, and you can appeal by emailing support. A ban may include removal of all your in-game assets and data, and we don't offer compensation for lost game progress.

Galaro is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be preserved.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Galaro and its operators will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service — including, without limitation, loss of game data, account data, progress, or assets; eon wipes or resets; downtime; or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages. The service is free; you use it entirely at your own risk.

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on the dashboard or via the Galaxy News Net. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
